Alex was the founder of Silicon Valley-based Zume, Inc. and served as its Chairman and CEO until 2022. Before his role at Zume, Alex served as the President of Zynga (NASDAQ: ZNGA). Before Zynga, Alex spent six years at Microsoft, ultimately as General Manager of Microsoft's media business (Xbox LIVE, Music, Video, and Reading), where he led both the P&L and the PM Engineering efforts.
Before Microsoft, Alex served for six years as an advisor to Japan-based Nexon (NEXOF) and two years as its co-CEO, where he was responsible for building out Nexon's US-based development infrastructure.
Before Nexon, Alex founded Relic Entertainment, where he served as the company's CEO for seven years before Relic's sale to THQ (NASDAQ: THQI). During Alex's tenure, Relic became one of the world's largest and most successful PC game developers.
Alex's first company was Canadian-based CID which developed control systems for industrial fabrication robots. CID was sold to Intersoft Development in 1990.
Alex is a Venture Partner at SignalFire and advisor to several high-growth companies in the US and India.
Outside of his professional obligations, Alex is a prolific engineer and inventor who is still active in the creation process of building cars, robots, and motorcycles in his spare time. Alex is a private pilot and has a deep commitment to aviation.
